MASSIE HILLS CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAIL SAUBLE BEACH CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAIL CROSS COUNTRY SKIING OR SNOW SHOEING is a wonderful way to get some exercise while enjoying the outdoors. There are many trails located close to Owen Sound. From mid December to February you can pretty well count on some awesome trails. The trails in all locations can range from beginner to the advanced levels having both hills and flat areas. Most trails are in the bush so they are very scenic. A heated Chalet is at most places, so when you are cold you can go inside and enjoy the warmth while having some hot chocolate. CATTO FARMS SLEIGH & WAGON RIDES Open year round. This is truly a heart warming experience. The snow is falling, as you hear the bells on the horses. They begin to take you through the wooded acres of trails. You will see the stars like you have never seen them before. The snow flakes dance around as they fall to the ground. You ride over a bridge that winds it way to a log cabin. A fire is warming the inside as the guests are offered a cup of hot chocolate or hot apple cider.
SAUBLE BEACH WINTERFEST & WIARTON WILLIE FESTIVAL This event starts the last weekend in January. Great outdoor and indoor activities for the whole family. It is the Largest Winter Event In Ontario. Sauble Beach is lit up with its night time parade, Christmas tree bonfire, crafts, food booths and the battle of the bands. The following weekend then kicks off with pancakes on the grill at 630 am. and 40 other different events throughout the day. You don't want to miss Willey's prediction, the coming of spring. This event has been taking place since 1956
