Fall Colors
Lake Francis is the best kept secret in the Bruce Peninsula. The air is clean, the water is fresh, the loons are calling and The Bass are waiting to be caught. Summer is Great but Fall is also a Beautiful time of year. The lake becomes very still for the fishermen and the trails becomes very tranquil for hikers looking to see wildlife. Sauble Beach Cottage Rentals will be quiet very soon and the strip will be saying goodbye to the many guests that have enjoyed the beach. It will become a ghost town until next year. Guests at Lake Francis Cottages take advantage of any season because of its location. Do something different and check out the Fall colors across the lake, horseback through the woods, see the many different waterfalls, hike the Bruce Trail, enjoy the crisp nights under the stars. Come and relax, read a book, barbecue, roast marshmellows, canoe around the lake or just kick back and smile as the Canadian Geese fly in for a stop on the lake before saying farewell.

Grand Bend Cottage Rentals
Posted on August 3rd, 2009 No commentsGrand Bend Cottage Rentals were busy for the August long weekend. My brother Denis came up from Windsor and said the traffic on Highway 21 was heavy. Grand Bend Cottages can be waterfront or a few blocks from the shoreline. The strip in Sauble Beach has many shops similar to those at Wasaga Beach and Grand Bend. Grand Bend Cottages and Wasaga Beach Cottages are approx. 2 hours away from Lake Francis Cottages. Guest at Lakefranciscottages have been really enjoying, catching Bass and Pike with the kids. The boats are out, the lines are in and the fish are waiting to be caught. We have Aug. 29-Sept7 open at our 2 bedrm and 3 bedrm waterfront cottages. Since it is the final week we are offering families a 3 day min. instead of a full week if they wish so they can spend some quality time before the summer ends. The kids do not go back to school till Sept. 7. Make it a real great catch and book your waterfront cottage while you still can. How Wonderful it is to see Canadians enjoying the Beauty of Ontario.

Rainbow Trout-Georgian Bay
A 12 year old boy from Owen Sound helped the Sydenham Sportsmen Association pour buckets of yearling Rainbow Trout into a tank to be transported to the Sydenham River and released. Over 14,000 Rainbow Trout, were grown in a fish hatchery. This is an ongoing hatchery program to stock our waters. The club will also release more than 170,000 Chinook Salmon into the river in June. Ray and some friends every year rent a Charter with Action Fishing Adventure’s (Captain Tony), they go out on Georgian Bay and are able to fish and generally catch the legal limit while barbecueing and having some laughs. The Salmon Derby that is held in September every year in Owen Sound brings many fishermen and ladies to the area to try their luck at winning the Grand Prize, a boat fully equipt with all the gear needed for the next year. Here on Lake Francis we have Large and Small Mouth Bass and also Pike. This is one of the very few lakes that has such Great Bass Fishing. In the spring we are very careful not to disturb the Bass beds. In return it allow us and others on the lake to enjoy this sport. Many property owners on Lake Francis as well as visitors catch and release. With educating the young and old with the environment it will keep are waters on Georgian Bay and Lake Francis clean and fresh for this type of entertainment.
