Summer is just around the corner. There are many different things to see and do. We are blessed with living on The Bruce Peninsula near Sauble Beach the Daytona Beach of Ontario. We try as a family to also experience as many different things as we can in the summer. Last year Ray and I were able to go to Rock The Park an outdoor event at Harris Park in London Ontario. This was the second year we attended this event. The line up in 2011 Featured Stone Temple Pilots, Our Lady Peace, Sloan and Bleeker Ridge, Meatloaf, Cheap Trick, Blue Oyster Cult and Bad Co’s Brian Howe and more…. Wiarton Willy Festival 2012
The Wiarton Willie Groundhog Festival is one of the largest winter events in Ontario, with more than 40 planned activities, celebrating Canada’s weather-prognosticating groundhog.
Predicting the coming of spring is a very difficult and often controversial activity. Come February 2nd, there is only one way to be sure, and that is to wake up for Willie’s Prediction. Pancakes are ready by 6:30am and the rest is up to the laws of nature. The action starts more than a week earlier with the Sauble Beach “Winterfest” night-time parade, a Christmas tree bonfire, Battle of the Bands, and all kinds of other great indoor and outdoor events. Chi-Cheemaun-Big Canoe In Owen Sound
The Big Canoe was to arrive in Owen Sounds harbour last night at 10pm. and will be docked along the wall till spring. The ferry was on its way back from Thunder Bay after an extensive inspection. The cost for repairs and work was to total approx. 1.7 million dollars. Make your way this morning to down town Owen Sound to finish up some last minute shopping and you will see the Big Canoe is back and at home for the winter.
Fergus Truck Show
The Fergus Truck Show has grown to be North America’s largest truck show, both in paid attendance and the number of the big truck. The Fergus Truck Show is proud to feature over 150 million dollars worth of trucks, trailers, equipment, accessories and more, on display. The event is held at the Centre Wellington Community Sportplex, located at 550 Belsyde Avenue, Fergus, Ontario. The Fergus Truck Show has been entertaining guests for 25 years. It also rents close to 50 acres for camping, parking and show space. There is rough camping and some hydro sites are available at the grounds. Fergus is located approximately 60 miles west of Toronto, Ontario. Friday July 22nd Entertainment- Tribute Bands will rock the night away playing CCR, Kiss and Bryan Adams. Saturday July 23 2011 Line Up is No Tribute it is The Real Brad James, Emerson Drive and Moonshine.
