Grand Bend Cottage Rentals were busy for the August long weekend. My brother Denis came up from Windsor and said the traffic on Highway 21 was heavy. Grand Bend Cottages can be waterfront or a few blocks from the shoreline. The strip in Sauble Beach has many shops similar to those at Wasaga Beach and Grand Bend. Today people had their binoculars facing the waters of Georgian Bay as The Chi-Cheemaun left its winter home in the downtown South Bruce Peninsula of  Owen Sound to Tobermory. It will begin its season bringing people and cars from Tobermory to Manitoulin Island. Last summer we sailed and took a tour boat from Tobermory’s harbour to see the shipwrecks, lighthouses and Flowerpot Island. The Chi-Cheemaun is the largest passenger vessel on the Great Lakes.
