Rock The Park 2011 London Ontario
Summer is just around the corner. There are many different things to see and do. We are blessed with living on The Bruce Peninsula near Sauble Beach the Daytona Beach of Ontario. We try as a family to also experience as many different things as we can in the summer. Last year Ray and I were able to go to Rock The Park an outdoor event at Harris Park in London Ontario and would not miss this year. http://www.rockthepark.ca/ Some of the performers last year were Alice Cooper, Heart, Peter Frampton, Night Ranger, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Collective Soul, 3 Doors Down and many more. They have day passes and weekend passes. This is a Great event that you don’t want to miss in 2011. The performers have not yet been announced for 2011 but will be soon. Summer goes by very quickly so make it a Great one and try renting one of our cottages. Lake Francis Cottages is located 10 minutes from Owen Sound and 20 minutes from Sauble Beach. We are on a private inland lake with lots of Great Bass fishing and swimming. Maybe take in an outdoor concert like Rock The Park, hike the Beautiful Bruce Trail, spend a day at Sauble Beach, camp at Tobermory, check out the ROM in Toronto, catch a movie at the drive inn in Owen Sound. Harbour Nights Owen Sound Ontario
Harbour Nights: spotlights up and coming talent with a series of concerts on the last Sunday of the month in March, April and May for the Spring series and September, October and November for the Fall series. Harbour Nights: concerts are in the auditorium of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #6, 1450 2nd Ave. West, Owen Sound. Seating provided. An alcohol-free, family friendly event. Summer concerts take place at the beautiful Inner Harbour behind Owen Sound’s Visitor Centre, 1155 1st Avenue West. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket to sit on. In the event of rain, the concert may be moved indoors to the Owen Sound Legion auditorium, at 1450 2nd Avenue West. Colpoy's Bay
Wiarton known for its famous Ground Hog, Wiarton Willie. Wiarton sits at the head of the Niagara Escarpment known as Colpoys Bay. The long jutting headlands make sailing and canoeing the Bay a protected but magnificent experience, especially with the three islands — Griffith, Hay and Whitecloud — looking like a necklace separating Colpoys from Georgian Bay. The Wiarton area is surrounded by nature. Georgian Bay provides visitors with endless water experiences, and the surrounding parks means there are endless options for hiking and nature gazing. The famous Bruce Trail runs through the waterfront of Wiarton following it north from Bluewater Park - you can take a hike to Spirit Rock Conservation Area. In winter- the village is alive with snowmobilers - who come to this area to experience the great snowmobile trails that run north and south of Wiarton.
