Deer Along The Bruce Trail
Fall Hiking on The Bruce Peninsula is one of the best times to see the beauty it holds. The weather is cool but it is great for not having to deal with bugs. You will need a light jacket but we generally bring a backpack with some other clothing just in case. Binoculars, water, compass, Day Hike Book-Hiking The Bruce Trail which you can buy at any tourist information, a snack like granola bars, a camera and make sure you wear a good pair of shoes. Always try to leave in the morning so you can take your time and really enjoy the sights. The wildlife viewing is also very good at this time of year because there are not as many people on the trails. Fall Colors In Ontario-Grey Bruce

Natures Beauty-Fall Colors
Well its easy to see that even if we are not ready for Fall to arrive it is right around the next corner. The crisp nights and beginning of the Fall Colors on the trees are a great distinction. It is a special time of year for painters looking to express the natural tones of nature on a canvas. Grey Bruce is one of the most Beautiful places in Canada to observe such an incredible vision. The Bruce Trail in the Autumn is my favourite place to hike and experience fantastic views of yellow, oranges and reds dressing a cliff that is overlooking a steam below. Lake Francis has its own color show that dresses the shores. Come out and enjoy a wonderful getaway weekend with friends and family. The Bruce Peninsula the place to be this Fall.

Ferns-The Bruce Trail
Over the past 8 years many of our guests at Lakefranciscottages have enjoyed hiking The Bruce Peninsula Trail. It is very easy to tell when these guests are joining us because they will take 2 cars. They will be up at daybreak having a coffee & breakfast outside on the dock. They will be dressed in hiking cloth including a good pair of shoes and backpack. Many have purchased a Day Guide Book -(Bruce Trail Map) to follow and will give them lots of information throughout the day. Leaving in both cars they will drop off 1 at the end of the path they will travel. The Bruce Trail is Canada’s oldests and longest footpaths. We believe more changes have happened to The Niagara Escarpment during the past 100 years than in the previous 9,000 years. The Niagara Escarpment is protected by legislation to ensure that it will be enjoyed by future generations. More than 1000 volunteers donate their time and knowledge to the Bruce Trail. There are many opportunities for you and your family by joining. Help secure The Trail. Volunteer and be part of The Bruce Trail call 1-800-665-HIKE

Fall Colors
Lake Francis is the best kept secret in the Bruce Peninsula. The air is clean, the water is fresh, the loons are calling and The Bass are waiting to be caught. Summer is Great but Fall is also a Beautiful time of year. The lake becomes very still for the fishermen and the trails becomes very tranquil for hikers looking to see wildlife. Sauble Beach Cottage Rentals will be quiet very soon and the strip will be saying goodbye to the many guests that have enjoyed the beach. It will become a ghost town until next year. Guests at Lake Francis Cottages take advantage of any season because of its location. Do something different and check out the Fall colors across the lake, horseback through the woods, see the many different waterfalls, hike the Bruce Trail, enjoy the crisp nights under the stars. Come and relax, read a book, barbecue, roast marshmellows, canoe around the lake or just kick back and smile as the Canadian Geese fly in for a stop on the lake before saying farewell.
