This event starts the last weekend in January-1st week of February. Great outdoor and indoor activities for the whole family. It is the Largest Winter Event In Ontario. Sauble Beach is lit up with its night time parade, Christmas tree bonfire, crafts, food booths and the battle of the bands. The following weekend then kicks off with pancakes on the grill at 630 am. and 40 other different events throughout the day. You don’t want to miss Wiarton Willey’s prediction, the coming of spring. Monster Spotted In The Forest Near Lake Francis
Haunted Forest
Halloween brings on some pretty mysterious creatures. At 5.30 pm. on October 31st 2009 a monster was spotted in the forest. A couple Hiking The Bruce Trail near Lake Francis could here a growling sound and in the distance could see a wolfman chowing down on something that resembled a bear. The police are asking for anyone else that may of seen this animal. Please contact the OPP Crime Stoppers. Until this monster is caught stay out of the haunted forest.
Grand Bend Cottage Rentals
Grand Bend Cottage Rentals were busy for the August long weekend. My brother Denis came up from Windsor and said the traffic on Highway 21 was heavy. Grand Bend Cottages can be waterfront or a few blocks from the shoreline. The strip in Sauble Beach has many shops similar to those at Wasaga Beach and Grand Bend. Grand Bend Cottages and Wasaga Beach Cottages are approx. 2 hours away from Lake Francis Cottages. Guest at Lakefranciscottages have been really enjoying, catching Bass and Pike with the kids. The boats are out, the lines are in and the fish are waiting to be caught. We have Aug. 29-Sept7 open at our 2 bedrm and 3 bedrm waterfront cottages. Since it is the final week we are offering families a 3 day min. instead of a full week if they wish so they can spend some quality time before the summer ends. Well Victoria Day was cold but was lots of fun anyway. The waves off Lake Huron (Sauble Beach) were quite high. Sauble Beach Cottages (Sauble Beach Rentals) and Sauble Beach Campsites had the young and old holding blankets and wearing heavy coats to keep warm. Here at Lake Francis Cottages the guests were able to snuggle up and watch a movie in their cozy nest. The wind died down on Sunday night so they enjoyed sitting by a fire. The air was crisp and the stars were absolutely incredible. No one was brave enough to jump in the clear cold water but did enjoy a canoe ride early Monday morning. All of you who came out to enjoy the Victoria Day Long Weekend don’t forget Canada Day in Sauble Beach is just around the corner. The escarpment winds its way down the Bruce Peninsula, the famous Bruce Trail offers hikers incredible views and nature that the Biosphere provides. Tobermory is the beginning of the Bruce Trail and travels 773 km following the Niagara Escarpment. The North Bruce Peninsula has the most spectacular Hiking on the Bruce Trail. The Bruce Peninsula Hiking Trail opened in 1967, and is Canada’s longest hiking trail. The 150 km ’s of trail in the Bruce Peninsula are considered the best in Southern Ontario, and offer hiking for the beginners and veterans. The hiking trails on the Bruce Peninsula are clearly marked, many lead to incredible lookouts. The smell of the wildflowers fill the air and the towering trees allow many bird species great nesting grounds. The Bruce Trail Club publishes an annual Day Hike Guide (Hiking The Bruce Peninsula) which is great to have when navigating around the Bruce Peninsula Trail system.
