Sauble Beach Sunset Volleyball Festival-July 16-17
Sauble Beach will be home to the always popular Sunset Volleyball Festival. The two days will have an Official OVA Tournament, along with recreational Co-ed 6’s & competitive 4’s tournament. They have partnered with Rock the Beach and United Way this year, with the registration proceeds supporting local United Way initiatives. Rock the Beach is providing a great line-up of live local bands all day Saturday and Sunday. Ian Thornley and Big Wreck will headline this years festival. Fergus Truck Show 2011-July 22-24
In 1986, the Fergus Truck Show was established as a one-time event to raise funds for the Fergus & District Community Centre Complex Hall addition and to introduce area residents to the trucking industry. Today the Fergus Truck Show has grown to be North America’s largest truck show, both in paid attendance and the number of the big truck. The Fergus Truck Show is proud to feature over 150 million dollars worth of trucks, trailers, equipment, accessories and more, on display. The event is held at the Centre Wellington Community Sportplex, located at 550 Belsyde Avenue, Fergus, Ontario. The Fergus Truck Show has been entertaining guests for 25 years. It also rents close to 50 acres for camping, parking and show space. There is rough camping and some hydro sites are available at the grounds. The street dance and car show run from June to September. The Caverners, Canada’s Best Beatles Tribute band are kicking off the summer and the following week we are proud to bring the 2005 World Champion Elvis, Glenn Aitchison to Sauble Beach. Other performers include Rob McLean, Don Buchanan, Jamie Smith and members of Dancemakers Dance Studio. Also appearing will be Pastor Dave Oppertshauser from Sauble Christian Fellowship Church recently back from Haiti to speak about his experiences. Several local businesses have graciously offered to sponsor the minimal expenses associated with this concert so that 100% of the proceeds can go to the cause. They include Dancemakers/Sportmakers, Tannahill Funeral Home, The Roxy Theatre and Bayshore Broadcasting.
